machinery at our factory

Our Factory

We are dedicated to making great ice cream and have been manufacturing and selling from our base in Conwy since 1952. Many people growing up in North Wales would have had their first ice cream from a Parisella’s van or parlour. In June 2006 with backing from the Welsh Assembly Government we opened our new Artisan Ice Cream factory in the centre of Conwy. The factory is equipped to the highest standard to ensure a perfect production environment. After much consideration we chose Technogel for their reliability and ease of use.

Under the supervision of Tony Parisella we launched our new range of Italian style dairy ice cream (gelato) and sorbet. The new machinery gave us a consistently smooth product to the very highest Artisan Standard. This new range was initially trialed in our own outlets to perfect the quality of the ice cream and also gain vital feedback before launching into the wholesale market.  The trials were extremely encouraging and gave us the incentive to enter the wholesale market.

In 2007 we successfully started to wholesale to several outlets in North Wales . We can now offer the discerning retailer a comprehensive range of Welsh made Artisan Dairy Ice Cream ideal for those wishing to offer the customer something special. We also offer a back of house service to hotels and restaurants wishing to offer a quality, locally produced ice cream.

We use Welsh whole milk, double cream and the finest Italian flavours to create a rich and smooth gelato style ice cream. Gelato is a premium ice cream which has very little air added to it making it extremely dense, rich and creamy. Due to its density it requires a slightly higher serving temperature, a perfect point where your scoop is firm but not hard and not so soft that it melts immediately.

We recommend -15 degrees as an optimal serving temperature.

We use the standard Napoli type containers in 4.75 litre for our Artisan ice cream range and 2.5 litre for our Sorbet range.

Currently, we can offer approximately 30 flavours however we constantly review our range to meet seasonal demand.

All our production is controled within a HACCP Framework managed by Tony Parisella. Our aim is to ensure the product reaches you in perfect condition.
